Ullfrotte is a Swedish brand of thermal clothing and we’ve just started stocking their thermal socks and we might also stock the rest of the range in a not to distant future.

 

 

 

The Ullfrotte fabric is based on the finest Merino wool supplemented with man made fabrics to increase the wear-resistance. The main advantage with wool-based thermals is that they will keep you warm even when damp or even wet, which is invaluable in our wet and damp climate. Ullfrotte use Merino wool since it is among the softest varieties of wool. The “itching point” for wool is a thickness of about 28 microns, compared to the old sweater that grandmother knitted for you when you were little that probably would have been way over 30 microns thick. The Ullfrotte fabric is 22 microns, which therefore make them extremely comfortable. The socks are knitted in tubular form, without seams to make them extremely comfortable.

 

To improve footwear climate comfort, W.L. Gore recommends using Ullfrotte socks when wearing a GORE-TEX® lined footwear.

 

 

Ullfrotte socks come in several different thicknesses, 200g, 400g, 600g and 800g. We will mainly stock 200g and 400g, but will have some 600g available and you can get 800g if you’re prepared to wait a little.

The sizes are one size for women and one size for men. The women’s size will fit UK size 3 to 7 and men’s 6 to 11. The blue colour is the same as the socks on the page above and the dark-green is the same as the full outfit above.

	Wildlife Knee-length - 600g per sqm. The same thickness as Wildlife, above, but knee-length, ideal with traditional hunting dress.   Available in blue or dark-green   These socks are £16.95
