The Krafla coat from 66° North takes its name from one of Iceland's most powerful volcanoes. This elegant mid-calf length coat is designed to provide excellent shelter for those who battle the elements in their everyday commute.

Built with a lightweight recycled down insulation with 700 fill power, the Krafla ensures absolute warmth without adding any bulk while the water-repellent nylon with matte finish provides light protection from wind and water.

With a detachable hood the Krafla gives you the option to adapt to different weather conditions and see through the seasons in style. Two zipped front pockets and one inner zipped chest pocket. The outer shell is made from 100% recycled fibers, colored with natural dyes.

The shape of the coat can be further altered with snap fasteners at each side of the lower part of the coat. Inner ribbed cuffs in sleeves for better insulation and added comfortability.

66 North uses recycled, upcycled, biodegradable, or organic natural fibers. However, function, necessity, and longevity come first. 66 North would rather make a garment that lasts for a decade rather than one which is slightly more “sustainable” in the short term but has material which will break down and lead to waste after two or three years. 66 North have been a carbon offset business since 2019.

This garment has an outer fabric of recycled polyester, this requires less water to produce than many other fibers. Polyester can be recycled endlessly in a circular recycling system without lowering the quality. By offering both recycled and recyclable products, they have come close to the goal of offering maximum experiences with minimal environmental impact.

The recycled down filling is reclaimed from used clothing and bedding, diverting waste from landfills and extending the lifecycle of the natural filling. Cleaning, sterilizing and processing methods used for recycled down are nearly identical to the ones employed for virgin down, granting a final product with first-rate standards in cleanliness and performance.
