This athletic Hrannar half-zip fleece from Icelandic brand 66 North uses Polartec Alpha for both performance and style. Originally designed for mountain use the Hrannar’s flattering cut and superior comfort have made it a versatile favourite at all levels.

Polartec’s Alpha technology provides a quick-drying, highly-breathable “active” insulation layer. Warm and light but comfortable next-to-skin this fleece will become a firm favourite in your active range, and can be worn as either a base layer or relaxed outer layer.

66 North uses recycled, upcycled, biodegradable, or organic natural fibers. However, function, necessity, and longevity come first. 66 North would rather make a garment that lasts for a decade rather than one which is slightly more “sustainable” in the short term but has material which will break down and lead to waste after two or three years. 66 North have been a carbon offset business since 2019.

Polartec have directed 1.7 billion bottles from landfill since inventing the first knit fabric made from recycled plastic bottles. As a company they also capture and re-purpose 95% of their remnants into useful products like flooring, mats, insulation and furniture. This garment uses Polartec Alpha fleece fabric.
