Fjallraven use a Preferred Materials And Fibres List that grades materials in terms of their impact on the environment. And this list is constantly updated, reflecting new research and new materials.

G-1000 is Fjallraven’s cornerstone material, made from recycled polyester and organic cotton. Fjallraven use it in everything from backpacks to jackets and trousers. It’s a densely woven fabric made from 65% polyester and 35% cotton and, by using Greenland Wax, it’s adaptable to a whole variety of different climactic conditions. So, with the right care this durable fabric will last for ages and join you on all kinds of adventures. The longer a garment lasts the more sustainable it becomes.

In 2019, Fjallraven founded the Arctic Fox Initiative; a collaboration between Fjällräven and its customers. Funded through the purchase of select Fjällräven products, the Arctic Fox Initiative awards several non-profit organisations with grants each year. The organisations chosen must have the goal of protecting our environment or inspiring people to spend time in nature. Proceeds from this bag will go towards this initiative.
