In 2012 Fjallraven decided to switch to fluorocarbon-free impregnation throughout its full product range.
Bergshell is a Fjällräven fabric that is made with 31% recycled nylon and a yarn process that halves its carbon footprint. Using two different yarns and a unique flat ripstop Bergshell is incredibly robust. Increasing the longevity and thereby reducing the frequency with which products need to be replaced is a major part of sustainable production and consumption.
