In this phase, Helly Hansen specify materials and constructions dictating the footprint upstream in the supply chain, but also the footprint at end-of-use for the product, which doesn’t have to be end-of-life for the material. By, for example, constructing the garment in one material, they are making it a more valuable resource in a circular system and are enabling textile-to-textile recycling. Helly Hansen are committed to continue advocating for the responsible use and enjoyment of the oceans, mountains and the greater outdoors.
This garment uses Polartec Fleece.
Polartec have directed 1.7 billion bottles from landfill since inventing the first knit fabric made from recycled plastic bottles. As a company they also capture and re-purpose 95% of their remnants into useful products like flooring, mats, insulation and furniture.
