The G-1000 Eco Air the High Coast Shade jacket is made of is a robust and long-lived yet light-weight and breathable fabric. It consists of 65% recycled polyester and 35% organic cotton. The recycled polyester is made from PET-bottles as well as second quality fabrics and fabric offcuts that are otherwise unusable. Recycling existing materials means a reduction in the use of raw materials, particularly those from non-renewable sources. The organic cotton used is produced without the chemical fertilisers. This benefits the environment and the people working with cotton in the production. Chemical fertilisers aren't only toxic for humans and the environment, but their production needs a lot of fossil fuels. Growing and producing cotton without them means that the CO2 emissions from organic cotton are far lower than those non-organic cotton.
