Welcome to the Nordic Outdoor web-site

A couple of weeks ago we did the Outdoors Show at the NEC in Birmingham and it was a roaring success. We were very close to the Bushcraft and Survival Magazine feature, incorporating a 7-man Varrie Tentipi.

Talking about Tentipi, the new catalogue is soon out and it features a new model, the Gaise, a 15-man single-pole Tentipi. This is very exciting and we believe it should be a best seller among many types of groups like scouts and as a base camp tent etc. Fore more info go to the Gaise page.

By the way are still offering the best deals on Tentipi tents.

The show list is slowly developing as we book shows, come back regularly if you want to have a look if we will be in your area later this year.

New in the Light My Fire range is the Grandpa’s FireFork, an ingenious little thing that makes a grill fork out of any old stick, soon there will be more info on the ‘Light My Fire’ page.

We now also ship to the US. For more info go to our order page: Here

We are still the largest importers of the coolest tents on the market, the Tentipi® Tipi-style tents. You can also check out the new Gaise model. To see one of the tents up you can either go to one of our shows: Show Page.doc or call us for alternative arrangements (we do have associates that can show you in many parts of the country, these people are experts in bushcraft and outdoor living and should be able to give you great advice):

We present the “Best axes in the world”: Gransfors Axes. These are hand-made axes that are sharper and better balanced than anything else on the market. We also carry a range of sharpening kits made by Gransfors and some exciting replicas from the same manufacturer.

On the Light My Fire products pages we will show that the Swedish FireSteel® and it’s partner MayaDust® are the best way to light a fire. We also present the SL3 FireKnife® that is a pocketknife with a FireSteel® incorporated. These pages will also feature the new products Light My Fire Spork, Mealkit and Spill-Free cup and the new Grandpa’s FireFork

A new addition to our range is Ullfrotte (actually now called Woolpower) Thermal Socks. These are the most comfortable socks we have ever worn. Made of the finest Merino wool, they will warm you even when they are wet, for more info and to get your hands on a pair go to the Ullfrotte page. Also, if you order something else you can buy a pair of 400g Sport for only £5.

On the Other Products page you can see our new Reindeer hides and you will also be able to find out about MayaSticks®. There will also be Muurikka skillets and other useful tools and gadgets.

Shows

We at Light My Fire often exhibit at shows and exhibitions and on the Shows page we will list the events that we have booked into, this page will be updated regularly so come back often and see if we’re soon going to be at a show near you. We have started to work on the list for 2007, which should be similar to the 2006 list but might have some additions to it, please come back for more info

Trade, Distributors and Promotion

If you have a shop and would like to stock our products give us a call and we can discuss this, this only applies to some of our products though and actually also to some products that are not sold on this page, like a comprehensive range of Frosts knives. We also have other distributors for some of the products. To learn more go to the Trade and Distributors page.

Many of our products are ideal for promotion, like give-aways and add-ons to other products. Some would also be very good as presents for staff or customers. We can arrange print or etching on many of our products and to learn more about this go to the Promotion page. Especially the new Light My Fire Spork has become popular as a promotion item. In October Light My Fire will be producing their millionth spork.

Bushcraft and Survival - courses and info.

Since many of our products are ideal or even aimed for survival and bushcraft, we will provide a list of bushcraft & survival schools, new ones are added continuously, where you can obtain skills for outdoor life. Most of the schools do courses for anyone, from beginners and families to the advanced. To see more about this go to our Bushcraft and Survival page. There will also be information about other events in the outdoor community like the Wilderness Gathering down in Wiltshire, which in 2006 was bigger than ever. This year has also seen the birth of the new Bushcraft & Survival skills magazine. A great guide and reference to the bushcraft community, they will also have a great presence at the Outdoors show on March 16-18th 2007.
