Tentipi® kåta-tents (we will refer to them as kåtas) must be among the most interesting and versatile tents ever. They are single-pole tepee style tents that combine unequalled space with low weight and are also very weather-resistant (especially compared to other large tents) and maybe the most important feature is that you can have a fire for cooking or heating in it.
The tents come in generally two different types fabrics; the ultra-light rip-stop polyamide, the 5-man Vagge 5 Light for instance only weighs 3.8kg. All the rip-stops is of very good quality, but the Varrie i8s of higher quality than the Nibba and the Nibba is of higher quality than the Vagge. The other fabric is the cotton-polyester canvas, even if this fabric heavier than the rip-stop is still very lightweight and also breathes very well, there is normally no need for an inner-tent with this fabric. This type of canvas should not be compared to the normal old-fashioned canvas material that you might have come across before. This fabric is also guaranteed to be water-resistant up to 12 months, but often longer. We can give advice on weatherproofing your kåta when it’s time. We also supply impregnating agent etc.
This section will be divided into six parts; the Varrie™ Tentipi®-our most advanced single-pole kåta, the Arran™ Tentipi®-a more basic version of the single-pole tent, but still made of the same superior material as the Varrie. The Nibba™ Tentipi® a model with similar features to the Varrie, but made from a more standard type of material and finally the Vagge™ Tentipi®, with similar features to an Arran, but made out of a more standard fabric. Accessories for the kåtas-like, floors, inner-tents, heating options etc.
We will try and cover the basics here, but for more info or to get a brochure, give us a call on: 0845-658 8549 If you’d like to have a look at one of the Tentipi tents, in the flesh so to speak, you can either go to one of the shows we’re attending: or call us for alternative arrangements.
