When it comes to outdoor trousers there are few brands out there who are held in higher regard than Swedish outdoor specialists, Fjallraven.
With a mission statement to create product designed to enhance your enjoyment of nature the Fjallraven Men’s trouser collection is full of styles ideal for hiking, trekking, scrambling and multi-day adventures.
The key to what makes Fjallraven trousers so special is the use of G-1000 material throughout the collection. This unique Polycotton blend is hard wearing, breathable and adaptable – meaning you can add water resistance with Greenland Wax to match your environment.
Not only are Fjallraven trousers built to last but they also showcase some unique detailing which has been introduced to improve the performance when on the trail From comfort stretch panels for use in warmer weather on the iconic Keb trousers to ventilated panels on the Vidda Pro Ventilated – these are the ideal pants for your next walking adventure.
Ideal for UK hiking, our collection of Men’s Fjallraven trousers is one of the most extensive in the UK and our expert team are on hand to advise on getting you the perfect pair.
Swedish outdoor specialists Fjällräven are well known for creating some of the best outdoor trousers in the world which are designed for long days trekking in the outdoors. To increase the versatility of Fjallraven Walking Trousers these are not created to be 100% waterproof but are instead water-resistant thanks to their unique G-1000 construction. G-1000 trousers can be given more water resistance with the application of the brands 'Greenland Wax' which is ironed on to your trousers to create a natural barrier to rain and moisture. By avoiding the use of 100% waterproof materials in their construction, Fjallraven trousers are more breathable and versatile meaning they can be part of your wardrobe year round and for any adventure.
Fjallraven Trousers are designed primarily for walking, trekking and bushcraft activities. In the brands trouser collection there are styles designed with different uses in mind so you can choose the model which suits your needs best. Styles such as the Keb Trousers feature stretch panels for high intensity trekking where stretch and comfort is essential whereas models such as Vidda Pro are designed to be more rugged and durable for activities such as camping and bushcraft. Like many cotton based materials the fabric will age and soften with wear - meaning each adventure with your Fjallraven trousers makes them more unique to you.
One of the most common questions we get here at Nordic Outdoor is regarding sizing on mens Fjallraven Trousers. Rather than using the UK sizing of inches the brand offer a size range between 40-60 which does not correlate directly to inches or CM. To help you choose the perfect size for your next pair of Fjallraven trousers we've pulled together a handy size convertor which you can find here.
Almost all of the Fjallraven G1000 trousers you'll find at Nordic Outdoor come pre-waxed, meaning you have rain and wind protection straight off the shelf. We would say that after every few washes or after regular continuous use then you could look at reapplying the brands Greenland Wax to your Fjallraven trousers. By applying the Greenland wax you are increasing your trousers resistance to wind and water which is ideal if you know the condition won't be warm and sunny for your next trip. If you're looking to remove some Greenland Wax from your trousers to provide additional lightness and breathability then you can simply run your Fjallraven trousers through the wash and this will help strip some of the wax from on-top of the G-1000 fabric.
Fjallraven is a brand focused on elevating your outdoor experience and their range of men’s trousers are perfect for hiking, trekking and multi day adventures. The use of G-1000 on most Fjallraven trousers means that they are incredibly adaptable to your environment. The trousers can be waxed using Greenland Wax to increase water resistance for rainy conditions or can be washed out to remove the wax coating an increase breathability for warmer temperatures.
Throughout the Trouser collection you will find a range of details designed to enhance your hiking experience including stretch panels on the keb range, zip panels for breathability on the Vidda Pro Ventilated and boot loop detailing on the majority of the range.
One thing to know about Fjallraven trousers is that they are incredibly durable and for this reason you don’t need to be overly cautious when washing your favourite trekking pants. Most Fjallraven trousers can be washed at 40° (though we recommend 30° to reduce energy consumption) and can be ironed on a delicate setting.
We would advise against the use of fabric softener or tumble drying your Fjallraven trousers as this can affect the products durability and technical performance. The best option where possible is to spot wash any dirty areas by hand which is kinder to your clothing and kinder to nature!
Fjallraven trousers are built with the outdoors in mind and for this reason are incredibly durable. With built in features such as G-1000 reinforcement to the knees and rear and pre-shaped knees – these trousers are designed to last on the trails.
All Fjallraven trousers come with a two year warranty so if you do find any issues with your new trekking pants then please reach out to us and we’ll find the best way to resolve this for you!
Yes! Fjallraven is a brand who care about our planet and being kinder to nature and for this reason they consider the sustainability of every product in their collection. One of the brands one core values is to “act responsibly towards nature, humans and animals,”. Since 2015 Fjallraven trousers have been produced without the use of PFA’s and in fact the Swedish brand have stopped the use of PFA’s throughout their entire product range.
Alongside these positive moves to sustainable production the key note is that Fjallraven products are built to last. By buying something which is designed for use, durable and will last a long time you are reducing the need for further production, further consumption and thus reducing the carbon footprint of your wardrobe.
