With well over 100 years of history behind them it is no wonder that Swedish outerwear specialists Didriksons are one of the best in the world when it comes to the art of the raincoat. For Spring Summer 2022 the brand have pulled together a collection for every eventuality and one that will keep you protected whether spending in the wild or on the commute.

The new collection from Didriksons showcases a range of Spring inspired Pastel colours like pink, soft green and lilac on a selection of jackets which are sure to become your favourite companions for sunny, windy or rainy days before the Summer.

“Winter is letting go, and cold winds are giving way for a gentle and more hopeful breeze. The seasonal shifts that we appreciate so much up here in the Nordic countries all have their unique characteristics, and now spring is calling us. She brings warmth and togetherness, fresh air and new scents. As the sunlight breaks through the clouds, the colors return to nature and you can almost hear the warm and long-awaited invitation like a whisper in the wind: See you outside.”

Didriksons Spring Summer 22 Jacket range takes its inspiration from the Swedish coastline and expands on the brands close connection with the coast and sea. Celebrating the diversity of Sweden’s Coast the collection captures the transition from darkness to light, cold to warmth, winter to Spring. From new styles for 2022 to some returning classics this is one of the most exciting collections from Didriksons to date.

Didriksons mentality hasn’t shifted since the early days of producing workwear for fisherman back in 1913. Rather than challenging the elements, Didriksons adapt to them by creating functional garments which keep you dry whatever the weather.

The new collection of Didriksons jackets is available online and instore at Nordic Outdoor. We’ve selected a few of our favourite styles from the new range below and you can also take a look at our new collection campaign where we test some of the new jackets in our home city of Edinburgh.

Didriksons Thyra Jacket

Didriksons Thyra Jacket

Potentially the standout jacket from the new range is the Thyra Jacket which will become your go to style for walks in the rain, boat trips in the wind and adventures by the shore. A brand new silhouette for SS22 the Thyra jacket is created to push the boundaries of what Didriksons can achieve with their production. By creating an anorak with no trims they have made something which is not only lightweight and sporty but also much easier to recycle.

The use of a mono-material design means that the jacket does not need to be separated before it can be recycled and the use of 100% polyester fabrics (including the membrane) are fully recyclable.

Fully windproof and waterproof the jacket features a bold colourway and an oversized fit. With an oversized logo to the back of the neckline this is a serious style for Springtime adventures.

Didriksons Bella Parka

Didriksons Bella Parka

The coastal inspiration for Didriksons new collection is most evident in the new Bella Parka which showcases a lining clearly influenced by the colours and sights of the Swedish coastline. This print is carried over into the included shopping bag which fits into the jackets interior pocket and can help cut down on your need for single use carrier bags.

The waterproof Bella parka is perfect for a life lived in the city thanks to its lightweight design and waterproof ability. With a relaxed fit and an A-line silhouette this is the ideal Spring Jacket for the modern outdoor lover.

Didriksons Anniken Fleece

The Anniken Fullzip is something a little different for the jacket brand – a full zip, soft pile fleece. Ideal for those cosy afternoons spent at home or as a warming midlayer for Springtime dog walks the Anniken is a modern take on the classic fleece. With a built in hood and branded zip pull this is a new take on Didriksons outerwear. The Anniken Fleece isn’t waterproof but will act as the perfect Springtime warmer when the temperature starts to dip.

Didriksons ilma Jacket

The ilma Jacket is a returning favourite from Didriksons and we can see why it has become a staple in the brands collection. With a slightly longer cut this is the jacket you need when spending your Spring afternoons wandering the outdoors. Fully windproof and waterproof with taped seams the parka is constructed in a matte finish material with an adjustable fixed hood.

In line with Didriksons aims to create a more sustainable company the jacket is dyed using a solution dyeing technique that saves up to 80% of water in comparison to conventional dyeing methods. This new method showcases Didriksons taking a traditional style and providing a modern approach to either the design or the construction.

Didriksons Folka Parka

Another style from Sweden’s top jacket brand which showcases their ability to seamlessly move from the wilderness to the city. The Folka parka is perfect for walks by the sea or walks in the city thanks to it’s functional design mixed with a shaped silhouette. No longer will brands get away with shapeless womens outdoor clothing – it’s all about creating kit that looks good and functions in the outdoors.

The Folka Parka is fully waterproof and windproof with taped seams and a multitude of pockets. With a fixed adjustable hood and adjustable cuffs this will see you right through until the start of Winter. Much like the ilma parka this style is dyed using a water saving, solution dyeing technique to make it a more sustainable upgrade for your outerwear wardrobe.

Didriksons Tilde Jacket

The final jacket we wanted to showcase is the Didriksons Tilde Jacket which screams Springtime. Available in two pastel colourways this is a modern outdoor style with a straight fit and a matte finish. Despite it’s lightweight appearance the Tilde is fully wind and waterproof meaning you can truly tackle the elements in style. Designed with function in mind the jacket showcases a reflective print to the chest and shoulders and is completed with the instantly recognisable Didriksons branding to the chest. We love the Tilde as a lightweight Spring coat and think it will be a staple in our outerwear rotation for seasons to come.
